First, a little background: I post on a forum full of atheists and agnostics. As in any such place, the religious feel the need to preach. Granted, this fellow felt provoked for once, so I’ll leave his name and the forum out of it. I had responded to a thread and posted the comment that the Christian God has murdered more people than Satan has. He asked for biblical evidence, and I gave it to him. As expected, despite the truth of my words, he took this rather unwell. What follows is my response, his quotes in red, and my comments here in blue.

What lie was that? That the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge would give mankind the knowledge of good and evil, or that eating from it would not result in immediate death? Further, it was God that tempted mankind, by putting that tree there in the first place. AND HE DID IT JUST TO SCREW WITH US! I can totally picture Him laughing it up with the angels. “Dude, I put a tree in their garden and told them not to eat from it.” “Do you think they will?” “Yeah, Satan’s down there right now telling them what the fruit does.” “LOL!” I think that makes him more of a bastard than any of the later killings.
I’m not a Satanist. It’s just hard to talk about God without sounding like one.

Actually, it’s an important distinction, especially given the context. Cain, for instance, was wicked. But all descendent’s of Adam and Eve are corrupt. Therefore, Noah was corrupt as well.
Here we were discussing the flood, if you didn’t guess. He was saying that the people deserved to die. The bible doesn’t say they were wicked, just corrupt.

You know, it’s funny how demonic possession looks like epilepsy, various illnesses, or insanity, but I digress.
Murderous? I’ve already shown how God murdered far more people than Satan did. Possessing? You mean like how God “hardened the heart” of Pharoah, forcing him to continue to oppress the Jews, thus resulting in the murder of all the Egyptian’s first born? He did that repeatedly, in fact. How many people did Satan himself possess? None at all. Christians all think that the demons are Satan’s minions. This does not seem logical to me. As they are all fallen angels who rebelled against God, and Satan himself is a fallen angel, what makes you think they’d all start following him? Surely there must be tons of in-fighting.
Anyway, I only touched on the “bad” possessions. What about the good ones? Don’t you, as a Christian, let Jesus into your heart?
You Christians fear demons more than God, and the latter one is more dangerous, biblically speaking. But I digress again.
I’ll take thinking for myself, thanks.
Again, I’m not a Satanist. I do not accept Christian mythology as being any more valid than any other. If anything, I hope it’s less.

This was not a genocide, and wasn’t meant to be. God was fine with drowning everyone on the planet for “genetic impurity”, but a bunch of really evil people, He’s like “Meh. They can go live in France.”?

Exactly. Everyone will be judged by their moral character. That means, of the 6 billion people currently alive, none will be spared. I say none, because God has a horrible track record when it comes to people who don’t worship him, and I don’t think anyone with a good moral character would do so.

Oh, no I’m not. I spent many years learning the bible, starting from when I was but a wee lad on my mother’s knee. I could tell He was a bastard straight away. Then I spent my teen years afraid of demons.
Fortunately, I grew up and realized that the bible was a fairy tale for a primitive people who needed a simple explanation for why life sucks.

The bible shows God to be a psychotic father figure who kicks his children out of the house the moment they start thinking for themselves then spends the next 40 years telling them they can’t make it on their own.
