Thanks for the great feedback, Bob. A few points:
You got it right, public display. A lot of my art is done specifically for ebooks and the distributors won’t accept images with nudity. (Nevermind the ebooks are very much adults only.)
Not sure what you mean by under-rendered. That there’s no texture on the bikini? Yeah, that would have increased the production time, and when I’m doing an ebook cover I’m often on a tight deadline.
In the other picture, Carrie, that render was done in Poser. Notice the high amount of detail on the skin and a texture on the bikini. In retrospect, I should have left the bikini off, but I was showing off the model I’d be using in future covers.
This picture, however, was done in Daz|Studio. It gets the job done much faster, and allows me to quickly produce that DOF effect.
And you’re also right, the clothes are a seperate piece. There is actually a better bikini available (that is, it’s smaller and sexier) but I’ll have to spend some money on that, so I’m not in much of a hurry.
As for printing, I’m more than happy to do prints for anyone that wants to buy one. But I have to rerender at a very high resolution, and redo any postwork. This can take days, rather than hours, so I don’t make them at a printable size to start with. However, I think I’ll look into this Zazzle and see if it’s worth my time to make images for contribution. Thanks!

Well, that’s good enough to start niggling over the little stuff.

In both of the views of this character, the green bikini seems like an under-rendered afterthought. As I was typing this, I realized that might well be the case, in order to display your work publicly8.

But the more realistic a thing seems, the more the little exceptions jar.

I’ve no idea how Poser works, or if you can create or buy stock clothing. I have some experience using 2nd Life to the same end and MY general approach has been to fuzz the hell outta everything, after assembling the scene from inventory.

Here’s the best example I could come up with before serious coffee.
